Welcome to the NIST Child Care Center! Whether you are a mom, dad or guardian, you want your child to have a loving, caring, wholesome environment in which to play and learn. We understand the need to provide quality child care at a reasonable price and are excited to offer this service to the NIST community. We offer options for full-time or part-time child care, kindergarten, before and after school care, Montgomery County Public School closings, and snow days where space available.
All NIST employees, NIST Associates and other federal government employees with children or grandchildren ages 6 weeks-5th grade (e.g. Summer Camp and Before/After School Care) are eligible to enroll their children in the Center. The Center admits children of any race, color, national or ethnic origin. We believe that finances should not prevent you from placing your little pea in our care and scholarship assistance is available to qualifying families.
Our mission is to encourage and promote the total social, physical, emotional, and academic development of each child in a safe, nurturing and supportive learning environment.

- Kindergarten Information Meeting: Tues. Feb 26th in Bldg 101, Lect Rm E from 12 pm -1 pm.

- Learn about the NIST Child Care's state approved, full-day kindergarten program, meet the teacher and register for the 2013-2014 school year.
- Kindergarten is offerered to children who be five by September 1, 2013. Children turning 5 by October 15th will be considered on an individual basis.
- Next BOD meeting will be March 13 from 12-1:30 in Bldg 320.
- On Dec 31st, 2012, NIST CCC infant program began. We are now licensed to care for children as young as six weeks. Two infant rooms are now open and the two-year program has been expanded.
