The CNST's Robert McMichael has been elected Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS). His fellowship citation notes his "broad contributions to the measurement, modeling, interpretation, and understanding of magnetization dynamics." The status of Fellow is limited to no more than one half of one percent of the APS membership and is awarded to recognize outstanding contributions to physics. Robert was recommended for election as a Fellow by the APS Topical Group on Magnetism. His name and fellowship citation will be published in the March 2010 issue of APS News, and also will appear on the Fellowship Page of the APS web site. His fellowship certificate will be presented at the 2010 March Meeting of the APS in Portland, Oregon. Robert is a Project Leader in the Electron Physics Group, where he develops dynamic measurement methods and supporting modeling for characterizing magnetic properties and spin polarized transport in magnetic nanostructures.
