Workshops on GCC Progress Toward Creating a Single Market - Focus on Electrical Safety, Product Safety, and Toys

The National Institute of Standards and Technology, Global Standards Group, announces two workshops coordinated through the NIST Standards in Trade Workshop Program (SIT).  SIT will host senior officials from the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) during the week of March 21, 2011, in cooperation with several USG agencies and private sector partners and sponsors.  

The purpose of the workshops is to provide an open forum for the GSO to educate interested parties and respond to inquiries on the:

1. new Regulatory System and Regional Conformity Assessment Scheme (RCAS) for the GCC single market; 
2. GCC Product Safety Directive; 
3. GCC Low Voltage Directive; and the
   
4. GCC Toy Directive
