Wanda J. Duffin-Ricks is the secretary of the Fire Research Division (FRD) of the Engineering Laboratory (EL) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Ms. Duffin-Ricks started her Federal service career at NIST in March 1975 as a clerk typist in the Personnel Division under the Employment Development Group. In 1976 she joined the Center for Fire Research (now the Fire Research Division) as Group Secretary of the Toxicology Group. Through 1982, she worked as a Group Secretary for several different Group Leaders in the Fire Research Division. In 1983, Ms. Duffin-Ricks was promoted to Division Secretary for the Fire Research Division.
Ms. Duffin-Ricks has helped to coordinate activities for the National Engineers' Week for NIST, and also helped to plan and conduct International Conferences and activities with the Society of Fire Protection Engineers. She currently serves as both the Division Secretary and the Grants Administrator for the Fire Research Division.
