eQuipp (Exchange of Quality Measurement Process Plans)

The Exchange of Quality Measurement Process Plans Specification (eQuiPP) is a new specification in progress, which defines all the information required to generate measurement process plans on any quality measurement device. 

The eQuiPP development group is a subcommittee of the Dimensional Metrology Standards Consortium (DMSC). The plan is to integrate into the current eQuiPP specification and expand on, quality “control plans,” defined in ISO16949 and expressed in the eAPQP specification from the AIAG.  
NIST’s role is to 1) contribute to the writing of DMIS, 2) generate conformance tests, 3) design and conduct public interoperability tests, and 4) act as standards consultants and leaders in industry standards organizations through summit meetings and other initiatives.

Status

• High Level Measurement Process Planning (HiPP) meeting at NIST 2006 led to
• Definition of HiPP in STEP and integration into AP238 via HiPP ARM model
• Definition of HiPP in UML
• eQuiPP defined as DMSC subcommittee with biweekly meetings planned
