Register Now for NIST Mobile Forensics Workshop and Webcast

Registration is now open for the free NIST Mobile Forensics Workshop and Webcast to be held Wednesday, June 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Md.

Workshop presentations will be of interest to forensic scientists, researchers, measurement science experts, statisticians, law enforcement stakeholders, policy makers and industry representatives.

The workshop agenda includes talks by leading mobile forensics researchers and practitioners on a variety of topics including:

  • Mobile forensics tool testing at NIST by Rick Ayers, NIST Information Technology Laboratory;
  • Mobile forensics A – Z by Sam Brothers of the Department of Homeland Security;
  • Career paths by Kevin Mansell, Control-F Digital Forensics;
  • Is mobile device forensics actually "forensics"? by Gary Kessler, Gary Kessler Associates;
  • Blackberry forensics by Shafik Punja, Teel Technologies;
  • Open-source mobile forensics by Heather Mahalik, Basis Technology;
  • Mobile forensics in academia by Rick Mislan, Rochester Institute of Technology;
  • Chip-off technology and JTAG analysis tools by Chris Houseknecht, Defense Computer Forensics Laboratory (invited);
  • Real-world applications and casework by Daren Melson, Wal-Mart.
