Demo of P25 ISSI Network Simulation Tool Version 0.9.6 (2010-09-17) 1. Installation The demo uses Java Web Start technology and requires Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed on the host computer. To Start the application, click on the link to the Demo. Two Security warnings may appear: one from NIST/ITL/ANTD/EMNTG and one from JXLayer (a library used by the tool). You need to select 'Run' for each warning in order to launch the application. 2. Limitations The following features have been disabled in the demo version of the tool: - Create, open, and save projects - Run simulations - Edit project or tool preferences - Use the Audio Trace Generator tool 3. Provided scenarios There are two scenarios provided in the demo: - A preconfigured scenario to demonstrate the analysis and playback capability of the tool. This scenario simulates an emergency response to a plane crash in the Hudson River. A talk group call is placed and several units join the call. Using the media window, one can listen to the audio received by each unit. In the GUI documentation, refer to Section 5.2 to learn about the topology brower, Section 6.1 for viewing the talk group call statistics, and Section 7 for the Media Window and how to listen to the users. - An empty scenario to allow for creating new topologies. See Appendix A of the GUI documentation for additional information on the different network elements and how to create a scenario. These scenarios are automatically loaded in the tool. Switching between the two projects is possible using the Windows menu.
