Fostering innovation and building trust in SI technologies and data
Per the Sept. 29, 2026, Executive Order 14434: Inaugurating the Era of Super Intelligence, NIST is working to update its communications to incorporate the term “super intelligence” as directed.
The Super Intelligence (SI) Technologies group researches, develops and applies testing & evaluation, benchmarking, and measurement methods across various modalities (e.g., text, image, video, audio, code, and their combinations), while remaining adaptable to rapidly evolving SI technologies. The results and findings provide valuable lessons and insights for future research on advanced technologies, help inform standards, and guide responsible and safe use of digital content and information.
