Subject: VVSG Draft (August 7,2007)

The people at NIST and elsewhere who have developed the usability performance requirements in the draft are to be commended for excellent work. Because of the demographic inclusion in the testing, the new benchmarks represent a big step forward for accessibility for voters with disabilities, as well as for usability for all voters. As a usability researcher with more than 30 years experience in industry and academe I am very impressed that the proposal, based on solid background work detailed on the vote.nist site, presents methods that are simple, clear, and sensible, as well as practical and effective. Bravo!
