2013 NADDRG Spring Meeting

Purpose:

The NADDRG Spring Symposium for 2013 is to be held at NIST on May 22, 2013.  Immediately following NADDRG will be a 2 day workshop on the current research and future directions of the NIST Center for Automotive Lightweighting (NCAL), where we will be asking industry to help us plan for an expansion in our efforts to support the automotive industry as they put advanced lightweight materials into vehicles.

Thus this is an excellent two-fer opportunity for the community to get together and exchange ideas.

Details for the workshop are HERE.

NADDRG  is composed of engineers, students and scientists from academia and industry, the North American Deep Drawing Research Group (NADDRG) is a professional organization designed to foster, encourage, and disseminate research findings in the field of sheet metal forming in association with the IDDRG (International Deep Drawing Research Group). NADDRG typically hosts two technical symposia per year. In contrast to many related symposia, those of NADDRG often consist of informal, off-the-record, in-progress presentations. More information about NADDRG can be found at: http://www.naddrg.org/.

LOCATION:  National Institute of Standards and Techonology, Gaithersburg, MD.  NIST is a secure campus, so visitors must check in at the front gate.  Non-US citizens require some extra lead-time for clearance, so please state whether you are a US citizen when you reply.  Parking spaces are free everywhere and should be relatively plentiful.

DATE & TIME May 22, 2013:  8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

REGISTRATION  Registration is free. Please RSVP with Tim Foecke, NCAL Director (tfoecke@nist.gov). Provide to him your name, affiliation, citizenship, email address and talk title (if you are submitting). If you do not intend to speak, please still RSVP with Tim. You do not need to be a member to attend or present a talk. Also, please indicate if the student(s) will participate in the poster session

NOTES  1. Advanced submission of talk content is not required; only the title is.  Presentations are accepted in the order in which they are received.  Submission of a talk title is not a guarantee to present.  2. Bring your talk on a flash drive. 3.  By virtue of their RSVP, non-members are considered invited guests who should contact Tom Stoughton (president@NADDRG.org) to discuss membership possibilities and requirements. 4.  Breakfast is available in the NIST cafeteria across the hall from the meeting room. Participants are invited to visit the cafeteria for their own lunch. 5.  Although NIST is sponsoring the meeting, federal law prevents providing food at meetings - if you wish to sponsor this aspect, email Tim Foecke.  6. A final list of talks and posters will be distributed about one week prior to the start.
