Format and Data Organization.
For text, tab delimited files,
such as exported from Excel.
Top row has collumn
Contiguous data after
Blank lines at end
Comment lines allowed
anywhere. They begin with a semicolon.
Blank cells (with
or without tabs, I think) are allowed at
ends of lines.
If all of the data in any particular
collumn are numeric, they will be read in
as numbers and accessed that way. Numeric data is selected using
a range of values (lo - high) and text data is selected by choosing
the items from a list. "No value" is allowed in numeric data,
and can be designated as "nil", "null", or, as Excel does,
<Lispix index> = <Excel
row> - 2. This is because the Lispix rows start with 0, and do not
include the column titles.
Special Features to display Images
If file names (less directory
and extension or type) are in a collumn,
and the collumn is named 'image', then the selected images or
corresponding thumbnails (or images of the same name but different format)
are displayed using 'Show / images ' or 'Show / thumbnails'.
Images should be in the
image read directory, and thumbnails in the
Image names are used up
to the first hyphen. Lispix uses the hyphen to denote
processing, blob files, etc., all corresponding to the same image. Make
sure unique images have unique names before the first hyphen.
Spaces are OK. For most
purposes, avoid hyphens in the file names.
To change characters in
the file names, use 'TOOLS / process folder / change
