David Pitchure is a native of Buffalo, N.Y. who came to work at NIST in 1987. He started with the Advanced Sensors Group which later merged into the Materials Performance Group. He has worked on projects developing ultrasonic test methods for the steel industry, Rockwell C hardness standards, mechanical testing and characterization techniques for metal forming, springback, and hydrogen embrittlement.
