Providing administrative support at the Group and Division Level
Secretary for the Thin Film and Nanostructure Processing Group. Activities include:
- Liaison between Group Leader and Group personnel (Staff/Guest Researcher)
- Liaison between visitors, customers, and the general public and corresponding Group personnel
- Administrative guidance and information
- Documentation of administrative actions according to NIST/Division procedures and policies employing NIST Administrative Systems
- Purchasing arrangements
- Grants preparation
- Travel and meeting arrangements
- Time and attendance
- Guest scientists agreements
- General clerical support
- letters and correspondence
- word processing
- updating spreadsheets
- maintaining databases
- presentations
- report generation
- upkeep of staff calendars
- Receptionist
- Office Organization
- File Management
(support to Group Leader and Staff members, with certain activities extended to include Guest Scientists and visitors)
Activities in support of the Materials Science and Engineering Division include:
- Support to one NIST Fellow for all activities listed above
- Support the Division Chief with the management of Division travel and meeting arrangements
- Assist the Division Administrative Officer with the Division's financial matters
