Far-infrared Spectrometer

Description:

Nicolet Magna 550 FTIR for far- and mid-infrared spectral acquisition. This modified instrument contains a silicon-coated mylar beamsplitter and standard DTGS room temperature detector fitted with a transparent polyethylene window. In this configuration, high quality THz spectra from 33 cm-1 to 700 cm-1 (1 THz to 21 THz) are readily obtained. In the picture below, the instrument is configured for step-scan mid-infrared hyperspectral imaging, using InSb or MCT infrared array detectors, of microscopic or macroscopic biological samples.
