N42-2011 Neutron Handheld Instruments

ANSI/IEEE N42.42 Standard project

This is an example of a Neutron Handheld radiation measurement instrument document; these instruments simply record the neutron count rate. This example:

  1. Describes the radiation measurement instrument and its neutron radiation detector via <RadInstrumentInformation> and <RadDetectorInformation> elements.
  2. Records two successive neutron count readings (taken using a 10 second integration time, as indicated by the <RealTime> element value) and each reading's GPS location.
  3. The instrument's location and battery status is reported for each reading.
