Donavon Gerty is a mechanical engineer in the Primary Standards Laboratory at Sandia National Laboratories who works in the Pressure, Vacuum and Leaks Lab. He is working as a Guest Researcher at NIST in the Thermodynamic Metrology Group working on the Innovation in Measurement Science project to realize pressure, temperature, and length using optical interferometry cavities. Dr. Gerty received his M.S. and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and his B.ME. from University of Dayton. He started working at Sandia in 2008. His current duties involve the design and operation of a Primary Standard system for the calibration of gas leak artifacts.
