Dr. Jon T. Hougen began his career at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, formerly the National Bureau of Standards (NBS), as a member of D.R. Lide’s Microwave and infrared Group in 1967. From 1969 to 1973, Dr. Hougen served as Chief of the Molecular Spectroscopy Section. He was later named an NBS Senior Research Fellow in 1984 and served as Acting Chief of the Molecular Physics Division, 1991-1992. Since 2001, Dr. Hougen has continued his research activities as a NIST Scientist Emeritus.
