Purpose: The USNWG is a group consisting of regulatory officials, device manufacturers, service agents, users of belt-conveyor scale systems, and other stakeholders. The group’s meetings are focused on: improvement of regulatory standards; examination policies and procedures; and the harmonization of U.S. and international standards.
Agenda:The USNWG will address relevant issues concerning the use, testing, maintenance, and legal metrology requirements regarding belt-conveyor scale systems and associated equipment. This meeting’s agenda will focus largely on proposed changes to the Belt-Conveyor Scale Systems Code in NIST Handbook 44 related to “weigh-belt” systems. A formal agenda is being developed and will be available by January 22, 2013.
