This hour with Ambassador Beazley, a highly regarded orator and expert on diverse topics ranging from Asia-Pacific economic and trade issues to military strategy, promises to be an engaging opportunity for NIST. Kim Beazley was appointed Ambassador to the U.S. in February 2010. His long and distinguished political career began when he was elected to Australia’s Federal Parliament in 1980. In that role, he served on a number parliamentary committees including the Joint Intelligence Committee and the Joint Foreign Affairs, Defense and Trade Committee. He has also served in a number of academic leadership positions, including Chancellor of the Australian National University.
