NIST participates in three Department of Commerce (DoC) Summer Internship Programs sponsored through Department of Commerce grants to the following organizations:
Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) - a national organization representing the Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) of higher education where Hispanics constitute a minimum of 25 percent of the total enrollment at either the graduate or undergraduate level
National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education (NAFEO) - a national organization representing the historically and predominantly black colleges and universities in the U.S. and the Virgin Islands. American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) - a national organization representing Native Americans at institutions of higher education nationwide and studying in fields of science and engineering.
