New
release of Version 3.2
NIST
Standard Reference Database 31
Phase Equilibria
Diagrams Database:

The Phase Equilibria
Diagrams CD-ROM Database,Version 3.2 contains
more than 21,000 diagrams for non-organic systems, including those published
in all 21 hard-copy volumes produced as part of the ACerS-NIST Phase Equilibria
Diagrams Program (formerly titled Phase Diagrams for Ceramists): Volumes
I through XIV; Annuals 91, 92, 93; High Tc Superconductors I & II; Zirconium
& Zirconia Systems; and Electronic Ceramics I. In addition, Version
3.2 contains 817 new figures with more than 1200 diagrams which comprise
an all-electronic "Volume 15". The new diagrams include oxide
as well as non-oxide systems such as chalcogenides and pnictides, phosphates,
salt systems, and mixed systems of these various ceramic materials classes;
this latest "volume" will not be published in printed book form.
As in the previous versions, the CD-ROM offers full commentary text display
in addition to diagram display. On-screen plotting can show line types such
as dotted, dash-dot, dash, and solid. Files can be saved in both .wmf and
bitmap formats. Starting with Volume 15, for all new content (and newly
revised existing content), the CD-ROM will include a book-quality .pdf version
that may be accessed with the new "View/Print PDF" button. When
no .pdf file is available, the button will be gray (not selectable). For
Figures with .pdf files available, pressing the "View/Print PDF"
button will launch Acrobat reader with the selected figure loaded. The .pdf
files are identical in format to the previously published hard-copy books
with full commentary text, references, and plotter-quality diagrams.

The demonstration
version contains the same functionality as the full version, but with
limited content consisting of the 202 figures published in the Phase Diagrams
for Ceramists: Annual '92 and 11 figures from the latest content-update,
"Volume 15". In addition, this CD-ROM serves as a searchable,
comprehensive chemical index for the entire database.
