TIP Advisory Board
The TIP Advisory Board offers guidance and advice to the Technology Innovation Program (TIP) on plans, programs and policies to accelerate innovation and R&D in areas of critical national need. The TIP Advisory Board reports on the general health of the Program and offers guidance on investment areas that are appropriate for TIP funding. The TIP Advisory Board was created through the America COMPETES Act (P.L. 110-69, Section 3012), the same legislation that created TIP.
Ten members comprise the TIP Advisory Board, at least seven of whom are from United States industry. The TIP Advisory Board members are selected to reflect the wide diversity of technical sectors represented in projects funded by TIP. The TIP Advisory Board functions solely in an advisory capacity, in accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA).
The TIP Advisory Board is charged with submitting an Annual Report to Congress. In the report, the Advisory Board addresses the status of TIP and comments on relevant sections of the Program’s own Annual Report, which is also submitted to Congress.
Call for Nominations
TIP invites nominations for membership in its Advisory Board. Nominations are accepted on an on-going basis. Advisory Board members serve 3 year terms, and may serve 2 consecutive full terms.
