Cybersecurity Services

In our increasingly digitized, connected world, manufacturers need to protect their data and their company against potential cybersecurity attacks. MEP National Network experts can work with you to identify, assess and manage your cybersecurity risks. Our experts will guide you through a self-assessment using the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. MEP Centers are also equipped to help you meet the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement cybersecurity requirements for manufacturers in the Department of Defense supply chain.

We had just about reached panic-mode when the MEP of Louisiana was able to come on board and break everything down for us so we could understand and move forward. The attention to detail helped us to understand and put together our compliance documentation on time.

An MEP National Network cybersecurity assessment of your business according to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework provides the deliverables you need to understand your company’s cybersecurity status.

  • Completion of Assessment: An assessment at the beginning of the entire process serves as a focal point for all proof documentation. This lays out the requirements your company must follow. A gap analysis is included to help your company understand how well it is currently implementing protections in conjunction with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Plan of Action and Milestones: Plans are made for how to implement corrections within your business and ultimately reach compliance.
  • Incident Response Plan: The incident response plan provides your company with ways of identifying and handling cyberattacks. The seven-step plan includes preparation for future incidents, identification of incidents, containment of issues, investigation, eradication, recovery and follow-up.

The NIST MEP Cybersecurity Assessment Tool allows U.S. small manufacturers to self-evaluate the level of cyber risk to their business.  The assessment is based on the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Cyber Security Framework.  This tool is to be used only for guidance and does not imply approval by NIST MEP and cannot be used to demonstrate compliance.
