EBARA Pumps American Corporation Retains Sales, Jobs, and Makes New Investments Following SCMEP’s ISO Audit Services

About

Located in Rock Hill, South Carolina, EBARA Pumps Americas Corporation (EPAC) provides engineered pump, pump products and related services for the water, wastewater, commercial, municipal, energy and power industries offering reliable product knowledge, application expertise, and responsive support including aftermarket replacement parts services. Recognizing the continued strain on water and wastewater facilities and infrastructures with increased maintenance, energy and environmental demands and costs, EBARA Pumps Americas Corporation strives to deploy the best water, wastewater pumps, pump products, and technologies to meet these requirements.

The Challenge

EBARA was preparing for upcoming audits of the company’s quality and environmental management systems. In preparation, SCMEP, part of the MEP National Network™, was asked to provide a certified auditor to audit the company’s ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems. In addition, EBARA had worked to become compliant to the ISO 17025 testing and calibration standard and wished for a review of that as well.

We sincerely appreciate SCMEP’s dedication to our company and continuing to keep us in compliance.

— Kris Brown, Quality Manager

MEP's Role

SCMEP provided process audits on all three standards by reviewing processes, procedure checklists, and other related documentation. EBARA also requested assistance in bringing quality personnel up to speed with training in the ISO 9001 standard and auditing skills. SCMEP was able to provide ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Training over a two-day period. Day three was spent assisting Ebara's quality personnel in closing in-process internal audits and answering questions.
