Empowering Local Manufacturers: Pertech Industries and Partners Achieve Soldering Excellence Through Collaborative Training

With the help of: Manufacturing Works

About

Established in 1971, Pertech Industries, Inc. (PII) of Riverton, Wyoming, is a U.S. company specializing in custom-designed scanners, printers, and related software. PII caters to diverse markets including banking, gaming, money order processing, and kiosks. The company is strategically expanding into new sectors like electronic manufacturing services (EMS), contract manufacturing (CM), and medical devices.

The Challenge

To maintain and strengthen its competitive edge in the growing EMS field, PII identified a need for skilled soldering personnel. PII partnered with Manufacturing Works, part of the MEP National Network™, to address this need, recognizing the importance of enhancing the capabilities of PII and other local manufacturers.
This training program was particularly important for Pertech; it helped create 3 IPC 610 Certified solder trainers, who will continuously train our workforce, that is in expansion and continuously looking for qualified workers. Here at PII we have a motto, 'The more you learn the more you get paid,' and that is because the company can offer better services at better cost/performance.
— Enrico Negrello, CEO

MEP's Role

Manufacturing Works collaborated with BlackFox to deliver a comprehensive soldering training program with certifications. The program was funded by a Wyoming Department of Workforce Services grant, eliminating any direct costs for PII and three other participating Riverton manufacturers. By reaching out to BlackFox, Manufacturing Works ensured that the training provided both skill development and certification for the participants. This initiative not only equipped participants with valuable new skills but also fostered collaboration among local manufacturers, allowing them to share challenges and solutions.
