ISO Certification Drives Sales for Vision Composite Products

Vision Composite Products, LLC (VCP) was founded in April 2017 to develop and deliver some of the most advanced structural carbon fiber composite products in the world. The research and development journey started in 2012, and in 2022, they were the first company to introduce Carbon Fiber Forged wheels® to the market. Their proprietary quick curing formula allows them to increase production cycle times and mass produce wheels. Vision Composite Products provides design and manufacturing services of structural carbon fiber components for any industry including automotive, aerospace, EV, industrial, and recreational. Their 16,250 square-foot-facility is located in Decatur, AL with 20 employees.

When Vision Composite Products contacted ATN, part of the MEP National Network™, they were a start-up company preparing to launch a new product line. In order to better position themselves in the marketplace to maintain and capture new business in the automotive market, they needed assistance in developing and implementing an ISO 9001 Quality Management System along with some additional quality engineering assistance. Establishing a quality management system would also improve overall quality operational efficiencies, which would be critical for the new product line. ATN met with top management, including the Director of Quality, to outline a plan of delivery.

Over a six-month period, ATN assisted Vision Composite Products in developing and implementing a quality management system that met the ISO 9001 standard. ATN assistance was delivered virtually and on the company’s site. Assistance included several phases including an overview of the requirements, development of documentation and procedures, implementation and training, followed by a complete system internal audit with detailed reporting. ATN also assisted Vision Composite Products by attending their stage 1 and stage 2 certification audits conducted by the ISO registrar where they were able to achieve their ISO 9001 certification. Additionally, ATN is currently working with the company on an IATF 16949 certification which they hope to achieve in the near future, further positioning the company for increased sales.
