In recent years, metamaterials are actively studied since novel optical functionalities cannot be accessible by nature materials come to real. To develop active metamaterials is one of extensively studied topics and we are working on developing active terahertz (THz) and microwave metamaterials utilizing organic p-conjugated materials. In this talk, I will show our recent results on (1) efficient optical modulation of THz transmission in organic/inorganic semiconductor hybrid system, (2) tunable electromagnetically induced transparency analog in microwave by magnetoelastic metamaterials, and (3) active THz and microwave metamaterials utilizing p-conjugated polymer actuators.
