TREC 2016 is the 25th edition of the annual Text REtrieval Conference. The TREC conference series focuses on building the infrastructure necessary for evaluating---and thus improving---the quality of search engines. Web search engines didn't even exist 25 years ago, so TREC has seen and contributed to unprecedented growth in the search industry in its lifetime. This one-day event celebrates TREC's milestone anniversary through talks and panel discussions reflecting on past accomplishments and looking forward to new challenges.
