Dr. Bollinger is recognized for accelerating the coming "second quantum revolution" which will reshape the economy with a new generation of products that exploit the strange and powerful properties of nature at the smallest scales. Success will rely on controlling and manipulating dozens of entangled particles simultaneously, rather than just a few, which has typified research to date. Bollinger was the first in the world to succeed at creating a quantum-entangled state using hundreds of particles, where each particle is separately identified and its information can be independently read.
