Cher Davis is recognized for leadership in the development and implementation of safety initiatives to support the Gaithersburg and Charleston campuses. Oversight of intramural programs at the Hollings Marine Laboratory (HML) requires additional efforts due to obligations imposed by the NOAA partnership with NIST at the site, and the challenges inherent to activities at a remote geographical location. Davis coordinated the implementation of NIST safety initiatives with the NOAA safety officer and the HML building manager to comply with both NIST and NOAA requirements. Her actions have promoted a safety culture at both locations to achieve and maintain safe working environments.
