AWARD CITATION
The group is honored for exceptional leadership and creativity in developing the Agile Robotics for Industrial Automation Competition (ARIAC). This annual competition brings together industry, academia, and government to overcome critical barriers in robotics, such as time-consuming programming and automated failure detection/recovery, which have inhibited industry from broadly adopting robotic technologies. Unique solutions resulting from these competitions are driving innovation and leading to new robotic technologies that allow U.S. manufacturers to better compete in the worldwide economy.
