The group is recognized for outstanding technical achievement in developing and deploying a materials database and a public portal for additive manufacturing (AM) data. The Additive Manufacturing Materials Database (AMMD) portal provides access to validated datasets that are accelerating industry adoption of AM by helping to assure manufactured parts will meet performance requirements. The group achieved industry consensus on an open data format, developed data curation methods, and created a software platform to disseminate AM data in an open standard format directly usable by practitioners.
