2021 Dr. Willie E. May Award for Distinguished Career at NIST

Ms. Cooley is honored for a distinguished career of over 40 years of service to our nation.  Starting as a high school intern at NBS, with substantial periods at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Department of Energy, and again here at NIST, Ms. Cooley has made contributions that have had great positive impact across our organization and across other federal agencies.  Her dedication to high-quality administrative excellence is evident in the many innovative, often groundbreaking, improvements to process and practice her work has brought.  Her dedication to people is evident in her advocacy, mentorship and focus on career advancement, which have touched many lives at NIST and elsewhere.
