2021 Distinguished Mentoring Award

Mr. Thatte is honored for his exemplary mentorship and leadership as a formal and informal mentor, coach and senior technical advisor at NIST for over 10 years.  During his service as mentor and coach to dozens of NIST employees, Thatte has made an indelible impact on the careers of NIST staff by building and fostering long-standing relationships that consistently embody the highest professionalism, leadership, care, and commitment to the success of his mentees. He is an astute listener and an empathetic confidant who enjoys getting to know his mentees, personally and professionally, through his very thoughtful, non-invasive approach, and then leading by example while accompanying them through challenges and planned objectives.
