AWARD CITATION
The Office of Facilities and Property Management (OFPM) Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Shop is recognized for its herculean efforts to recondition the entire NIST Gaithersburg campus portfolio of HVAC equipment prior to Phase 1 of the campus reopening. These four HVAC employees, out of a COVID-19 reduced shop of 11 employees, performed a six-week sprint to perform all preventative maintenance on 100% of the HVAC equipment in 62 buildings on the Gaithersburg campus. Their persistence and stamina assured that all possible measures were taken to provide the safest possible work environment in accordance with recommendations from the NIST Ventilation Team as the campus reopened from the pandemic.
