Mr. Ackley is recognized for his dedicated, dependable, and high-quality provision of services and support for NIST Gaithersburg fire protection systems, which included responsibilities Mr. Ackley voluntarily took on in addition to his normal responsibilities. These actions provided NIST the ability to maintain building and occupant protection, allowing critical research activities to continue, ultimately supporting NIST’s mission and its responsibility to the United States during tough COVID times.
