AWARD CITATION
Dr. Hackley is recognized for sustained leadership in, and critical technical contributions to, the development and standardization of measurements used by industry and regulatory bodies to characterize products that incorporate nanomaterials. He has worked diligently through international standards bodies and with public/private partners in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Japan to promote cooperation and consensus. He has advanced the development of reference materials employed globally, including a joint effort with the European Commission's Joint Research Centre. Consensus measurement standards led by Dr. Hackley have been formally recognized by the Food and Drug Administration.
