The group is recognized for the development of rapid, quantitative, and comparable broadband coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (BCARS) microscopy for label-free imaging and analysis of molecular composition, abundance and orientation in biological, chemical and material systems. The group designed a multi-laser optical system, developed theory that disproved prevailing views, and disseminated user-friendly software for data analysis. This complete chemical imaging package enables unprecedented specificity to advance areas including human health, materials science and geological sciences.
