The team is recognized for providing a data quality assurance framework to the mass spectral reference library of the Drug Enforcement Administration's Scientific Working Group for the Analysis of Seized Drugs (DEA, SWGDRUG). The team developed new, streamlined data quality procedures that transformed the DEA collection of un-curated data into a trusted resource for novel illicit substance identification. Thanks to the team’s efforts, the SWGDRUG library is now a cornerstone resource for federal, state, and local crime labs used to identify new illicit drugs, a previously insurmountable task.
