The group is recognized for its response to a national emergency through actions taken to support the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, awarding $12.3 million in a remarkable 67 business days. The group developed funding opportunities, processed applications, and issued awards at an unprecedented pace, achieving all Administration objectives, and dramatically outpacing other agencies. This pace of execution enabled Manufacturing USA institutes to provide solutions through advanced manufacturing and training to respond to critical national needs for domestically produced medical products. The group documented impact through a special report and co-led the development of a briefing to Congress.
