Dr. Lane is recognized for exceptional leadership and technical contributions in the development and publication of ASTM E3353-22: Standard Guide for In-Process Monitoring Using Optical and Thermal Methods for Laser Powder Bed Fusion. Dr. Lane was instrumental in defining, testing, and documenting the technical basis of this new standard, which provides guidance to U.S. manufacturers on how to utilize in-process monitoring methods to ensure the quality of parts made via metals-based additive manufacturing.
