Dr. Huber is honored for developing a novel technique in neutron interferometry that permits determination of three distinct, important physical properties with a single measurement. Using this technique, he made significant improvements in the measurement of silicon structure factors, used widely in materials studies; he generated the first measurement in over 20 years of a fundamental property of the neutron, its charge radius; and he placed the most stringent constraint on the strength of a new fundamental force, which could revolutionize our understanding of physics.
