2023 Distinguished Mentoring Award

Dr. Schock is recognized for both her scientific accomplishments and her passion to help fellow scientists achieve their career goals in a supportive environment through both her words and her tireless actions. She is dedicated to equitably training the next generation of metabolomics scientists and takes on mentorship roles with a diversity of early-career scientists, some possessing minimal to no experience in measurement science or metabolomics. In this way, Dr. Schock’s efforts help to grow the field while also making metabolomics and sound methodology principles accessible to individuals with various backgrounds. She graciously counsels in both a professional and personal setting. We are all better scientists due to her tireless efforts.
