The group is recognized for development of a groundbreaking standard reference material, SRM 3666 Albumin and Creatinine in Frozen Human Urine, the first ever to specifically match urine albumin concentrations found in normal and chronic kidney disease patients. This benchmark material meets an internationally recognized need to improve the measurement and reporting of urine albumin, an established indicator of kidney function. Early and accurate detection of kidney disease reduces the risk of progression to severe disease and decreases the significant healthcare burden on individuals and society.
