Mr. James E. Norris (Fed)

Electronics Technician

Mr. Norris is responsible for ozone and mercury instrument calibrations under NIST Calibration Services. Measurements of ozone concentrations up to 1000 nmol/mol are performed using an ultraviolet photometric technique.  He is also responsible for operation and production of NIST Standard Reference Instrument (SRI 6008), the NIST Ozone Standard Reference Photometer, which serves globally as an ozone reference standard.  Measurements of mercury concentrations in the range of 0.25 to 300.0 ug/m3 are performed by comparison to a NIST Prime mercury generator which has been certified by an ID-ICPMS technique.
