Jason D. Garver (Fed)

Jason D. Garver is a physical science technician in the Polymeric Materials Group of the Materials and Structural Systems Division (MSSD) of the Engineering Laboratory (EL) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Mr. Garver joined the Polymeric Materials Group in 2001. Prior to NIST, he worked in his own company, Garver Sheet Metal, and as an electronic technician at SFA-Frederick Manufacturing. Mr. Garver came to NIST with a plethora of technical skills including expertise in electronics, electrical circuits, breadboard design, plumbing, machining, feedback-control devices, and laboratory automation. Since then, he has become proficient in low-level programming of microprocessor control devices. He has applied almost all of these skills in helping to design, build and maintain the NIST SPHERE (Simulated Photodegradation by High Energy Radiant Exposure) and its many accessories. Outside of NIST, Mr. Garver has a long-standing interest in flying, he owns his own plane, World War II research reenactment, and designing and building electronic devices.
