Cheyney O'Fallon (Ctr)

Cheyney O’Fallon is an economist on contract with the IoT Devices and Infrastructure Group in the Communications Technology Laboratory at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). He joined NIST in 2016 after earning his Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where his research focused on the competitive effects of natural disasters on electricity markets. At NIST, Cheyney has worked in the Applied Economics Office of the Engineering Laboratory, the Smart Grid Program, and the Smart City Infrastructure Program. He is a coauthor of the NIST framework and roadmap for smart grid interoperability standards, release 4.0. Currently, Cheyney is working on the development of Holistic Key Performance Indicators (H-KPIs) for smart city technology adoption to further community resilience and public safety.
