This group is honored for developing unique measurement capabilities at the National Fire Research Lab, the only national facility for studying structural performance of full-scale buildings under realistic fire and loading conditions. The new capabilities enable critical measurements of complex behaviors of full-scale, loaded structures exposed to real fires. The facility's purpose is to improve fire safety and shift the current fire resistance paradigm for buildings to save lives and properties.
