The team is recognized for development, application and dissemination of the Fate and Transport of Indoor Microbiological Aerosols (FaTIMA) tool in support of efforts to understand indoor exposure to airborne SARS-CoV-2 viruses. The tool estimates exposure to the virus based on particle transport physics, providing building engineers with critical information to evaluate the potential effectiveness of control strategies such as increased ventilation and improved filtration. In addition to developing the tool, the team relentlessly pursued multiple technology transfer activities to ensure broad impact.
