Electrolytic Conductivity Measurements for Ten Room Temperature Ionic Liquids

Abstract
Electrolytic conductivity measurements of four n-alkyl-methylpyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, ([Cnmpyr][Tf2N] and six aryl-substituted imidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ionic liquids are reported at p = 0.1 MPa in a range of temperature (293.15 – 323.15) K. For the measurements, an impedance bridge technique was used in conjunction with a sealed cell equipped with platinum black electrodes. The cell constant Kcell = 101 m-1 was determined with standard aqueous KCl solutions before and after these measurements. All samples were thoroughly dried under vacuum and the water content before and after measurements were determined by coulometric Karl Fischer titration. Results show that electrolytic conductivity increases with increasing temperature in both families of substances.Citation
